The 2010 Parade's Are Here: A Tribute to Iwo Jima and the American Spirit Ever since Freedom Village entered into a local Memorial Day Parade we have seen a huge impact within the our local communities. The tribute to Iwo Jima and the over all patriotic theme of our kids has brought many to tears. Especially those who remember a day when our national holidays were respected as a day of patriotism. The horse program, the singing groups and both the boys and girls dorms all participated in making the floats and particpate in each parade. See you on the parade route! Please see the Calander for the next parade. Below are pictures of the floats that our kids created, and by the way, we are now entered in about 17 parades this summer. We may even be in the Macey Day Parade in 2010. Oh Lord let Your light shine as we continue to reach our local communities. Here is what others in the local community are saying about Freedom Village and our community involvement. Hats off to Freedom Village for the part they played in the Dundee Memorial Parade; from their band to the raising of the flag at Iwo Jima, it was heart wrenching and shows what we stand for and the respect we have for our country and our service men. It made tears come to my eyes and a lump in my throat as it did to the spectators that were around me. WOW!!!! Is all I can say to Freedom Village.... I usually am brought to tears by the marching band... (I used to be in it and loved it).. but THIS year... Freedom Village was the one that brought the tears... Great Job!!! I have to admit Freedom Village is becoming more and more a part of this community. they get more involved all the time. Maybe, they will do it some good. Years ago I started Touch Of Christmas in Dundee. Right from the start Freedom Village was always involved helping and the Victory singers were there every year! I agree that any good PR for Freedom Village is good. They kinda got a bad rap a few years back Visit our Photo Gallery
